In recent days, there has been no shortage of criticism surrounding Milan regarding the management of the full-backs. With the sale of Theo Hernandez on the left having been decided for some time, and a right flank consisting, in fact, only of Alex Jimenez, the Rossoneri environment expected that action would be taken earlier in this area of the pitch. Today, the team departs for the tour, and Allegri will have to rely on the players currently in the squad: yet, encouraging news is arriving regarding both Estupiñán and Pubill.
Full agreement with Estupiñán
The latest news regarding Milan’s two main full-back targets is reported by Matteo Moretto in this morning’s video published on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel. Starting with Pervis Estupiñán, it is reported that there is a total agreement between the club and the player, who would like to take a further step forward in his career. What is missing, as often happens in these cases, is the agreement between the two clubs. The first offer of €13 million was rejected by Brighton, who are asking for at least €20 million. The feeling is that, in the coming hours, there will be a new offer from Milan, with the hope of finding common ground. The Ecuadorian, therefore, is the one chosen to take on the heavy legacy of Theo Hernandez.
Pubill, talks with the agents
Milan sent some members of its medical staff to Barcelona yesterday to meet Marc Pubill in a private clinic, in the presence of his agents and with Almeria’s authorization. The goal was to receive reassurances regarding the condition of his knee, which was indicated as the reason behind the collapse of the Spaniard’s move to Atalanta last summer. The medicals went well, and the player, as Moretto recalls, played the entire season plus the U21 Euros without issues. Now the Rossoneri club will proceed to start negotiations and, beginning today, will begin talks with Pubill and his entourage. The goal is to first secure the player’s agreement and then sit down with Almeria to finalize the deal for a permanent transfer.
