Marco Sportiello has left AC Milan. After two seasons, the goalkeeper born in Desio has decided to return to Atalanta. At the same time, the Rossoneri have signed Pietro Terracciano as the new backup to Mike Maignan. In an open letter published by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marco Sportiello bid farewell to Milan with these words:
"Dear Milan, I dedicate these words to you because I want to say thank you. I experienced unforgettable moments. I thank my teammates, the staff, and the entire club for giving me this opportunity. I am also grateful to the fans. It was a privilege to play at San Siro and feel all your love and passion for this glorious jersey. With affection, Marco Sportiello."
According to TMW, Milan sold Sportiello to Atalanta for one million euros. Always reliable when called upon, the goalkeeper also had the satisfaction of winning a trophy with the Rossoneri—the Italian Super Cup last January.
