Luca Bianchin, the well-known Italian journalist, expressed himself to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the (very close) signing of Pervis Estupiñán:
"The third signing will come from afar. After Luka Modric and Samuele Ricci, Milan is one step away from the third summer signing. The negotiations with Brighton for Pervis have progressed and are now close to completion. The two clubs are very close, only the final handshakes remain but the final phase is underway."

He added:
"Estupiñán comes from Ecuador, he will be the starting left-back and will ideally take the place of Theo Hernandez, who moved to Al Hilal. He is 27 years old and still has a lot of football ahead of him.
Bianchin continued to talk about the deal:
"Milan and Brighton, barring surprises, will shake hands around the 18 million plus bonuses mark. This has emerged in recent hours. As for the agreement with Estupiñán, it is not a problem: Milan and the Ecuadorian left-back, formerly of Villarreal, have already agreed on a four-year contract worth 2.5 million per year."
