There’s no use beating around the bush: ahead of today’s friendly at 13:30 Italian time against Arsenal in Singapore, the squad available to Massimiliano Allegri, whether due to delays on the transfer market or temporary unavailability, shows several gaps that are very difficult to fill. Specifically, Milan finds itself without right-backs and without a centre-forward.

On the flank, Filippo Terracciano might be used, but he has to alternate with Davide Bartesaghi on the left: the only option available is the young Vittorio Magni, with Alex Jimenez unavailable for this first test. In attack, Lorenzo Colombo will likely not be there, as he is close to a move to Genoa; with Santiago Gimenez still on vacation, the striker might be Rafael Leao.
Yesterday in training, Rafa Leao was tested as a centre-forward, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Allegri could opt for a 3-5-2 formation against the Gunners, at least until Estupinan arrives, setting aside the classic 4-3-3 for now. A three-man defense is expected, with Tomori — who thus wouldn’t have to play as a full-back — along with Gabbia and Pavlovic; a midfield with the two wing-backs being Alexis Saelemaekers and Bartesaghi; and finally, an attack with two mobile forwards without fixed points: Pulisic and Leao. It remains to be seen how Allegri will decide to proceed.
