Samuel Chukwueze spoke to the Rossoneri club's official channel at the end of Milan – Perth Glory 9–0. These were his statements:
“We’re happy to have won two matches. Today was a good game. Every match counts during pre-season in order to be ready for the start of Serie A. Big or small teams, it doesn’t matter, we have to win every match to achieve our objectives for the season. Today’s victory tells us that we must continue to work hard and focus on the upcoming challenges.”
On Massimiliano Allegri:
“Coach Allegri is a great coach, everyone knows that, he has won a lot in his career. And now that he’s here, he will want to win trophies with Milan too. He’s a great coach, he knows what he wants. He works with the players, he knows how to relate to the players, he knows what the players want and what he needs. He’s a truly great coach, both from a defensive and offensive point of view. We just have to keep working with him and try to do what he asks of us. You can’t just do things your own way, you have to listen to the coach. If we do that, we will get results.”
We see you smiling more... Chukwueze replied:
“You always have to smile, smile and love what we do. Football can be stressful at times, making you overthink what you can’t do, but you have to smile and always stay happy. When you’re happy, everything works because you play with the right peace of mind, and football, like all other aspects, is a consequence of that. When things go well, you smile, and when they don’t go well, you smile anyway. The most important thing is to focus on yourself.”
What’s the atmosphere like in the dressing room?
“Everyone is happy and working hard. A really great atmosphere has been created in the dressing room. We have someone who dances, and I’m one of them (laughs, editor’s note). It makes the work easier. Sometimes you have to focus on the work, sometimes there’s room to have fun, there are moments to joke around and moments to be focused. Now we’ve finished the work, so we can have a bit of fun (laughs, editor’s note).”
