AC Milan ends its Asian tour with a resounding 9–0 victory against the Australian side Perth Glory. An important success that helps boost confidence and provide minutes for the Rossoneri squad ahead of the start of the season, which will kick off on August 17 with the Coppa Italia clash against Bari, set to take place at San Siro.
Among the many positives for the Milanese side, particular focus goes to Christian Comotto: the 2008-born midfielder started the match against Perth Glory and also found the back of the net thanks to a delicate chip from the penalty spot (a penalty he had earned himself, being a “son of art”). Comotto showed great personality on the pitch, taking on various responsibilities in midfield as well as displaying notable self-awareness, as seen in the 29th minute when he converted the penalty to make it 4–0 for Milan.
Back in Milan, Comotto’s future is already set: as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Milan has a verbal agreement with Spezia for the loan of the player for next season. The Rossoneri are prioritizing the need for Comotto to play regularly and consistently. Upon Milan’s return from the tour, this deal is expected to be finalized. No option is ruled out for Comotto’s future, but as Romano said in a video on his Italian YouTube channel, as of today, Milan has a verbal agreement with Spezia, and the expectation is that Comotto will play in Serie B next season, as pointed out by Calciomercato.com.
According to MilanNews, the structure of the deal should be a dry loan: Milan will pay various bonuses and incentives to the Ligurian club based on the performance and playing time of the 2008-born talent.
