AC Milan is looking for a new striker to make available to Max Allegri, and in recent hours the name of Darwin Nunez has been mentioned insistently. Fabrizio Romano, in a video on his YouTube channel, speaks about the situation of the Liverpool center-forward, as transcribed via Milannews.it:
“There have been many questions in recent hours about Nunez, and it’s right to clarify a couple of things. The amount that Liverpool would like for Darwin has been around 65 million euros since June. This amount can clearly decrease if the market changes, a market which, at the moment, has not brought many alternatives for Darwin, other than that of Al-Hilal.
Al-Hilal wants Darwin Nunez, there have been contacts in the last 24–48 hours, and he is a player highly appreciated by Simone Inzaghi. It remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached not only financially but also in terms of the technical project. There are contacts on the player’s side, and soon there will be talks with Liverpool, who are asking for a high figure.
Liverpool has spent a lot this summer, Luis Diaz has left, and selling a player like Darwin Nunez would be very significant in terms of costs. He wants and needs to leave, and Liverpool wants to find a solution for him. But the starting point already in June was 65 million euros.
As for Milan, there is no ongoing negotiation with Liverpool. Of course, that agents talk to various clubs is natural, but as of today, we are not yet at the point where we can confirm that Milan has started a negotiation for Darwin Nunez.”
