Newcastle have rekindled their interest in AC Milan's defender, Malick Thiaw, in recent days.
The German defender, formerly of Schalke 04, is regarded highly by the Premier League club and would like to sign him in order to bolster their defence.
The latest update arrives from our correspondent Vito Angele who explained that the negotiations between the Rossoneri club management and the 'Magpies' are progressing. The transfer could be done at around £35m (40 million euros approximately).
The AC Milan club has opened the door to the possible transfer. The defender, for his part, would like to make the move to the Premier League in order to improve his salary.
What are Thiaw's numbers in the 2024/2025 season with AC Milan?
The 24-year-old player (whose contract with Milan runs until the summer of 2027), featured in 31 matches last season between Serie A, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, and the UEFA Champions League competition. He had one goal and one assist registered to his name with 3 yellow cards received in total. Overall, he clocked over 2400 minutes on the pitch.
