Milan and Young Boys are finalizing the last details for the transfer of Zachary Athekame, a right-back born in 2004, to the Rossoneri. He has impressed Milan’s scouts above all for his physical attributes, stamina, pace, and intensity that could make a difference in Italy.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning that the deal is close to completion, as the Swiss side has given the green light for his departure for €10.5 million, including bonuses. The player, who has strongly pushed for the move to Milanello, is expected in Milan in the coming days for the routine medical examinations and to sign his contract.
Who is Zachary Athekame
Born in Denmark on December 13, 2004, Athekame took his first steps in football with several clubs: Athlétique-Régina FC, Olympique de Genève FC, Servette FC, and Meyrin FC, before joining Neuchâtel Xamax FCS, where he made his professional debut. On July 28, 2024, he made his Super League debut with the yellow-and-blacks, Switzerland’s top division, in a match against St. Gallen, coming on in the 58th minute to replace the injured Blum. A few weeks later, on September 17, the young full-back made his Champions League debut, starting against Aston Villa. His first goal came in the Swiss Cup on February 27, 2025, against Zurich. Last season with Young Boys, the Swiss defender made 43 appearances and scored one goal.
