Fabio Capello, former coach of Milan, Juventus and others, spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the new Serie A season:
"I expect a more competitive league, harder to predict, especially because several top clubs have changed coaches: Inter, Roma, Milan, Atalanta, Lazio, Fiorentina, Torino..."
Massimiliano Allegri like Antonio Conte?
"Antonio put his stamp on things, right up to winning the Scudetto, by building on his team’s solidity. I believe Allegri can do something similar in Milan."
Is this a Milan capable of challenging for the title? Capello said:
"It has to be. If a club like Milan is out of Europe, then competing for the Scudetto becomes a must. Even more so when, over the summer, they’ve chosen a coach with real pedigree and a sharp sporting director like Igli Tare. Returning to the Champions League is the bare minimum, fighting for the title is essential."
