AC Milan’s summer transfer activity might not stop with Victor Boniface (deal closing with Bayer Leverkusen) or potentially another forward (contacts with Sporting Lisbon for the young Conrad Harder are ongoing). In these final days of the transfer window, it’s not excluded that the Rossoneri could also try to bring in another defender. Currently, the squad has four center-backs, Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia, Strahinja Pavlović, and the new signing Koni De Winter, which might be a bit few if Max Allegri plans to consistently rely on a back three.

Milan with a new defensive signing?
For this reason, as reported this morning by Corriere dello Sport, it’s possible that Milan sporting director Igli Tare could make a move in the final days of the summer window to strengthen the defensive line. Among the names being monitored by the Rossoneri is Caleb Okoli, the 24-year-old Leicester defender, who would cost between €10 and €15 million. Another player of interest is Jakub Kiwior, although securing him from Arsenal on favorable terms would be challenging.
Experienced options?
Milan could also opt for a more experienced player. In this regard, a name linked to the Rossoneri for several weeks is Berat Djimsiti, the 1993-born Atalanta defender who has mostly played in a back three. Other experienced profiles that could be useful for Milan include Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-Jae (scouted in early June but with a high wage of €8 million) and Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen, though there are some concerns regarding his physical fitness.
