34-year-old Italian, Alessandro Florenzi, the ex AC Milan player, who won a historic Scudetto with the Rossoneri colours as well as a supercoppa trophy in the 2024/2025 season, has announced his retirement from football today.

Here's the message he shared on his official Instagram account:
"Thank you for everything, my friend ⚽️❤️
You taught me to love all the fans, from the first to the last, without exception. Each one of you pushed me to improve, and each one of you helped me get back up after the setbacks that are part of this sport, as they are of life: I am truly grateful to you. I want to thank every teammate, coach, staff member, and director. Every single one of you without exception: day after day, your support and professionalism allowed me to grow as a man and as a footballer. Thank you, Ale, for seeing something special in that little kid on the pitch 17 years ago."
Florenzi added:
"You and the WSA family have been, are, and always will be an essential part of my life, not only my footballing one. Finally, I want to thank all those who have accompanied me on this long journey, especially the people who work quietly behind the scenes: each of you has left a mark on me. Without you, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank you again, my friend: today we say goodbye, but you will always be a part of me."
