Ardon Jashari’s injury is a cold shower for Milan and, of course, for the player himself. After the long negotiations to snatch him from Club Brugge and only two official appearances as a substitute, the Swiss midfielder on Thursday morning suffered a fractured fibula during the final training session ahead of the Lecce match, following an accidental clash in training with Santiago Gimenez. It’s a major blow that will sideline him for at least two months, though with rehabilitation it could even take longer.
Taking into account the recovery time, the rehabilitation and reconditioning phase, as well as the fact that it’s a conservative treatment without surgery, we’ve tried to estimate how many games Jashari will miss and when he might return.
The most plausible hypothesis is that he could be available to coach Allegri for the derby against Inter, scheduled for the weekend of November 23. In this case, between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, he would miss a total of eleven matches. Since the clash with the Nerazzurri comes right after an international break, it’s possible that Jashari could already be ready for the game two weeks earlier against Parma, but given the nature of the injury, it’s just as likely that the Rossoneri staff will “use” the international break to ensure the Swiss midfielder recovers fully.
