In a video published on YouTube, Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto discussed the Gimenez-Dovbyk swap that fell through between Milan and Roma:
Here's what Fabrizio Romano had to say:
"Santiago Gimenez remains at Milan, despite the openness shown in the final hours of the transfer window. The Mexican was never a target for Chelsea, although he had been completely open to Roma."

Moretto added:
"The parties did negotiate; there was a deal discussed. Dovbyk is staying at Roma, and now it remains to be seen what his path will be under Gasperini. The Ukrainian knows very well that he is not at the center of the new Roma coach's plans."
Matteo Moretto also briefly spoke about Joe Gomez’s failed move to Milan, which eventually led to the signing of David Odogu:
"In the final hours of the summer transfer window, there was a possibility of seeing Joe Gomez at Milan. He was the defender Allegri wanted, for his experience and characteristics. But when things are rushed and time is tight, it’s clear you have to make decisions to avoid ending up with nothing in hand."
