Matteo Moretto, speaking in a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, discussed Milan’s summer transfer market:
On Arokodare and Embolo:
“I want to talk about two strikers who changed clubs this summer: former Genk forward Tolu Arokodare and former Monaco forward Embolo. I’ve told you several times that Milan were offered many options for the attack, including these two names. And I can assure you that both of them waited as long as possible to see if a call from Milan would come, but it never did. Arokodare could also have been a good option for Napoli in case Hojlund didn’t arrive. In the end, Arokodare went to Wolverhampton, while Embolo moved from Monaco to Rennes.”
On Zion Suzuki:
"There was a moment when Milan explored the goalkeeper market because it looked like Maignan could leave. Chelsea made an official offer for him, but the Rossoneri considered it insufficient. When Milan realized the Frenchman might really go, Suzuki of Parma entered their shortlist, as well as Napoli’s, where Conte is a big admirer of his. The Napoli coach only wanted two goalkeepers: either Milinkovic-Savic or Suzuki. Parma always kept the price high, and the player never pushed to leave."
