Milan spent heavily in the transfer market this summer. The biggest investment was bringing Christopher Nkunku to the Rossoneri, costing €37 million plus bonuses to take him from Chelsea. Yesterday, the Frenchman was officially presented to the press and immediately showed how much he wanted to join Milan: "When I heard about Milan, I got a shiver and didn’t think twice. I saw Kakà and Ronaldinho in this shirt, and Thiago Silva made me understand it’s the best club in Italy," he said at the press conference, as reported this morning by Gazzetta dello Sport.

His time at Chelsea, after breaking through at Leipzig, didn’t go as expected:
"I think when I arrived everything was perfect, but then I got injured and was out for many months. I was eager to return, and then I had another muscle problem. The second year I was fine, but the coach made other decisions. I am the same player who once scored a double in Bergamo." Nkunku is referring to the two goals he scored for Leipzig in the Europa League at Atalanta.
Nkunku's personal goal at Milan is to return to the top form he showed at Leipzig:
"I am still that player," the French forward emphasized. He added that his preferred position is attacking midfielder, but he is ready to adapt to any request from coach Allegri. During the conference, he was given balloons that he usually inflates to celebrate goals: "I don’t know if 15 balloons will be enough to celebrate my goals here." The field will show whether they are enough or if he will need another pack."
