Niccolò Ceccarini, director of Tuttomercatoweb.com, published his usual Friday editorial and spoke about what Milan’s transfer market could look like in the January window. Ceccarini’s words:
"One team that will definitely need to move in January is Milan. In the end, the Rossoneri had to give up on signing a central striker because the swap deal with Roma for Dovbyk collapsed. In the coming months it will be crucial to see how much Gimenez is really used. The feeling, though, is that when the market reopens Milan will once again look around."

Ceccarini continued:
"And then there is the defender issue. Milan had planned to sign an experienced centre-back and, after unsuccessful talks for Akanji, they turned to Gomez from Liverpool. It was already a complicated deal, even more so with only hours left before the deadline with the Reds. Agreements were in place, but there wasn’t enough time to close everything. Allegri will surely ask for reinforcements, and for that reason Tare will try again in January, possibly considering other options as well."
