This break has served Max Allegri at least to recharge his energy and organize his thoughts, also because starting next Sunday against Bologna things will get serious.
The squad is complete, or almost, since the ex Juventus coach would have reinforced it a bit more during the last transfer window, but it is still a group with the right balance between experience and potential. Allegri’s real skill will be in making these two elements fit together and bringing Milan back where it belongs, in the top European stage, the Champions League.
There are several important areas that need work: securing and improving the defense, trying Rafael Leao as a central striker, giving space to Ricci and De Winter who are pushing for opportunities, and integrating Adrien Rabiot. As La Gazzetta dello Sport wrote this morning: “Max, there is work to do” and it must be done well.
