In a video published on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto revealed behind-the-scenes details about Milan’s summer transfer market:
On Jesus Fortea:

“Jesús Fortea, right-back of Real Madrid, renewed his contract with the Blancos this summer until 2029. But at the start of the summer his deal was set to expire, and there was a strong chance he would sign for Milan. Between April and May, the Rossoneri made a concrete move to secure him, and the parties were close to an agreement. Then the arrival of Xabi Alonso on Real Madrid’s bench changed everything. The Spaniard asked for Fortea’s renewal, and the player chose to extend. Still, Milan were very close to landing the 2007-born full-back.”
On Riccardo Calafiori links with Milan:
"There was a lot of talk about Calafiori during the summer market, especially linked to Milan. The defender, under contract with Arsenal until 2029, was mentioned as a target for Milan, but in reality he was never for sale and never considered leaving the Premier League. So there was never a real chance of seeing Calafiori leave London."
