The Serbian defender leaves Anderlecht for €20 million. Four-year contract in Saudi Arabia, Milan receive €4 million. Lazio’s target slips away...

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 2005-born center-back has been signed by Al Ittihad for a total fee of around €20 million including bonuses. For the young Serbian, formerly of Milan, a four-year contract until 2029 is ready.

No deal for Lazio, who had listed him as a reinforcement for Maurizio Sarri’s squad for the January transfer market window.

On the other side Milan are smiling, since Simic is a product of their system. The Rossoneri will collect about €4 million thanks to the sell-on clause included in his transfer to the Belgian club.

Simic - Al Ittihad agreement

In recent hours, Al Ittihad sped up contacts with Anderlecht and quickly found an agreement.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the deal between the two clubs was set at a total of 20 million euros, while the player has been given a four-year contract binding him to the Saudi side until 2029.

The paperwork is being completed and the official announcement is expected soon.

Lazio miss out on Jan-Carlo Simic

Simic’s move to Saudi Arabia is a setback for Lazio, who had been following him for some time with full approval from Maurizio Sarri.

The club had planned to make a move in January, once the Covisoc-imposed block was lifted, seeing the Serbian as the ideal addition to their defense, as relayed via Calciomercato.com.

But Al Ittihad’s rapid intervention ended those plans and therefore forced the Roma-based club to rethink its winter transfer strategy.
