The days of the 'Condor' have always been at the end of August, but this time they will come a few weeks later and will not concern the transfer market, but Adriano Galliani’s return to Milan. One more week and, if everything goes as planned, by next Friday the closing will take place for the sale of Monza from Fininvest to Beckett Layne Ventures, an American fund managed by Brandon Berger. With the change of ownership, the AC Monza current CEO will step down, ready to return to the Rossoneri.

Today's print edition of the Tuttosport newspaper reports this morning that in recent months Galliani has had several contacts with Gerry Cardinale, who, on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s suggestion, considered bringing him into the RedBird structure. A few days ago, the former Milan CEO tried to downplay talk of his comeback, but those were likely formal words since the Monza closing must come first, expected by Friday, September 26. Milan is waiting for him, especially figures close to him like Ibrahimovic, who strongly pushed for his return, and Massimiliano Allegri, with whom he has had an excellent relationship since his first spell on the Milan bench (from summer 2010 to January 2014).
What role will Galliani have at AC Milan if he were to return?
Like the Swede, he is not expected to join the official corporate structure, but he will be tied to RedBird. He will act as a senior consultant to the ownership, likely handling sporting politics, assisting president Paolo Scaroni in the Serie A League, and representing the club. In recent weeks, there has also been talk of him as “head of football,” which would also bring him into contact with Allegri’s first team. Alongside him, Mauro Bianchessi, who for years led Milan’s scouting department, could also return and take a place within the Milan Futuro project. The documents are ready, the signatures will follow after Monza’s change of ownership. The days of the Condor are approaching.
