"Leao, optimism ahead of the Napoli clash"
That is the headline in Corriere della Sera this morning, which reports that Milanello exudes optimism about the Portuguese winger’s recovery for Sunday’s Serie A showdown against Napoli at San Siro.
The soleus injury he suffered on August 17 during the Coppa Italia match against Bari has fully healed. He is racing against time to be available, either from the start or more likely from the bench, against the Serie A leaders.
Interviewed yesterday by SportMediaset on the eve of tonight’s Coppa Italia round of 16 match against Lecce, Massimiliano Allegri spoke about Leao and his return:
"When will Leao return? Tomorrow (today.) absolutely not. We will assess him on Thursday and Friday, then decide if he will be available for Napoli."
