AC Milan Women opened Vismara to the media ahead of the new season. Rossonera Christy Grimshaw spoke to those present. Here is her interview.
On how they want to play:
"During pre-season we played some great matches, then we took part in the Women’s Cup, and those games helped us learn. We were unlucky with injuries, though that is not an excuse, but when many players are missing it is hard to work as you want. All the matches and preparation helped us understand how we want to play. Now we are training very well, and we are confident we will have a strong season. We have improved in the areas we needed to."
On being happy with the squad and what she wants to give to the new players:
"Obviously, when new players arrive it is hard to find the right way to communicate, but all the girls are excellent, and some the coach already knew. At first it is difficult, but when you train together it becomes much easier because you communicate on the pitch. We all share the same goals: win and work together," as relayed via Milan Press.
On what Milan means to her, Scottish midfielder Grimshaw answered:
"I have been here for five years. I am someone who fights a lot and gives everything for the shirt. I want the new players to understand what it feels like to wear the Milan jersey. There must be passion and determination, the most important things when you play for a club like this, the best in the world. I want to try to pass these values on."
On the objectives:
“Goal of qualifying for the Champions League? Yes. I have been here five years and we have always wanted to win a trophy. This year I am sure we will work to achieve this and also to finish in the top three so we can play in the Champions League, which is the level this club must reach.”
