Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Milan advisor, said this during the ECA general assembly in Rome.
"As a former player, I care about playing the highest number of matches possible. I say the more you play, the better, but of course players must be protected with a proper, sustainable schedule."

He added:
"Each team has about 25 players, and they can have more than 25 if they want. If you don’t use the whole squad and stick to the same eleven it becomes hard. Then there are the national teams, where you play with pride because you represent your country. Even there, if the players’ needs are respected, everything runs smoothly. As long as calendars are reasonable, everything is possible. The new Champions League format is a fantastic idea, and what does the public want to see? More matches. Today training and preparation are on a very high professional level, I’m not worried about all these matches."
Speaking about VAR, Ibrahimvoic had the following statements to say:
"I support it, but it must be used properly. If time is not wasted and it is used efficiently, you no longer depend on the referee and their assistants. I am not against it; I support anything that improves football," as per Milan News (via ANSA).
How much fun are you having in this new chapter of your life?
“A lot. I’m learning plenty. Now I see everything from a different perspective. To be honest I don’t feel the same adrenaline, that’s why I go to the gym every day (smiles). But yes, I’m learning a lot. It’s a new way of seeing things. When I was still a player I thought: ‘Why can’t we do this? Why can’t we do that?’ Now I’m on the other side of the table and I understand everything. Now I’m more realistic.”
How is a season structured when you try to win everything? Ibrahimovic commented:
“Up to January it’s fine, everything you’ve done is good. But then January and February come, and that’s when you need to be sharp. Of course, there’s also an element of luck… Do you want me to say I would have liked to win the Champions League? That’s no secret. But people remember me not winning it more than they remember 90 percent of players who did win it (smiles). I’m glad PSG won it, but I think the hardest thing is to win again, to confirm yourself.”
Ibrahimovic, who will win the World Cup?
“Good question. Sweden didn’t qualify... I hope Brazil for my friend Ancelotti, I support them. Everything he touches turns to gold, let’s see if he does it with Brazil too.”
