During his usual video update on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto gave an overview of Mike Maignan’s future. The Milan goalkeeper and captain’s contract expires in June 2026:
“I’ve said this many times, and I’ll repeat it. The talks for Maignan’s renewal, whose contract with Milan expires in June 2026, are at a standstill. After a phase where the two sides seemed very close to an agreement, the situation entered a stalemate. Milan decided to take time, asked Maignan’s entourage for patience, and slowed down the process that was leading to the signing, for several reasons. This summer, Maignan was close to joining Chelsea. He had given his approval, but the deal fell through because the two clubs didn’t agree on the financial terms. Now we’re in October, and I have to say that Maignan’s renewal with Milan looks very difficult. The more time passes, the harder it becomes for him to extend with Milan. The January window is approaching. As I mentioned in a previous video, the feeling is that Maignan could leave either in January for a fee or in June as a free agent. That’s the situation as it stands.”

On the rumors linking Maignan him to Juventus:
“What I can tell you is that, as of now, Maignan’s name hasn’t been discussed internally at Juventus. It’s true, though, that if the right conditions, especially financial ones, were to arise, Juventus might consider him, as could other Italian clubs. But at this moment, it’s not a topic being discussed inside the club. If Maignan were to become an opportunity in terms of the overall cost of the deal, Juventus might evaluate it. He’s definitely an important name for the market. As of today, the most likely destination is the Premier League. We’ll see.”
