There is no doubt about who has been Milan’s best player so far this season. We are obviously talking about Christian Pulisic, whose numbers are impressive: six goals in eight official matches between Serie A (four goals) and the Coppa Italia (two), with an average of one goal every 70 minutes. The American forward is currently with his national team, and before last night’s friendly against Pervis Estupiñán’s Ecuador, he commented on his excellent start to the season:
"I worked really hard this summer. It’s not like I just took a break. I wanted to make sure that my body was in the perfect spot coming into the season, and I wanted to start really strong, and I worked really hard,” explained 'Captain America', responding also to the criticism he received over the summer for asking coach Pochettino not to take part in the Gold Cup after playing 50 matches with Milan.
On his start with AC Milan, Pulisic added:
"It’s just been consistency and the work I’ve put in, and it’s good to see it come to fruition and [to be] playing well. But it’s just the start of the season. I have so much more I want to accomplish.”
