Igli Tare, AC Milan’s sporting director, spoke to DAZN before the Milan-Fiorentina match, which will take place tonight at San Siro at 20:45. Here are his statements.
Today you could go top of the table?
"It’s a big opportunity. No excuses or complaints, it’s part of the game. The team is in good shape and comes off a positive run of results. We’re facing a strong side that has earned less than its real quality deserves. But tonight, we have a great chance, and we must make the most of it."
How do you assess Athekame’s progress? And what do you think about Ricci-Modric?
"Athekame is young and full of potential. Playing at San Siro brings pressure, so we shouldn’t add more. He shows great qualities in training and earned his place as a starter today. With Luka, it’s always easy to play. Sharing the pitch with a champion helps you learn and grow."
Do you see this squad as deep enough? Tare answered:
"The squad was built deliberately this way: 19 outfield players, 3 or 4 goalkeepers, and 2 or 3 Milan Futuro players who are regularly involved. These absences aren’t positive, but they must not be an excuse. If we win tonight, we can look ahead with strong confidence in this league."
