Ahead of Milan-Pisa on Friday night at San Siro, Fikayo Tomori spoke to Milan TV. Here are his comments:
What is your role in the dressing room?
"When I arrived, I was 23. Now I’m almost 28. My role in the dressing room is a bit different now. When I came, I didn’t speak Italian, now I do. I take care of a bit of everything, like talking about positioning on the pitch and explaining what the coach wants to the new players. I feel that responsibility, and I like it because it comes naturally."

Now you play on the same side as Alexis Saelemaekers:
"The two of us know we run for each other. If he’s out of position, I’m behind him. If I make a mistake, he’s there. We know each other well, he’s good on the ball. After going to Roma last year, he became a different player. He has more confidence, more quality with the ball, more desire to prove himself, and he’s proving it. Off the pitch, we’re friends, we talk every day. We have a good connection."
This Milan looks more solid, Tomori commented:
"Defensive work doesn’t only concern the defenders, it involves the whole team. Everything is connected. We’re working to be more united, more compact. We know that if we don’t concede, we have strong attackers who can decide matches."
What did you say after the Fiorentina game?
"The next day we came here and said that match was done, we must focus on Pisa because it will be another tough one. There are no easy games in this league. Yes, we won, well done, but there’s another match ahead. We play before the others, so if we win, we can enjoy a good weekend."
