The deed for the sale of San Siro and the surrounding areas to Milan and Inter has been postponed to next week. The reason is a recent slowdown in the bureaucratic process, which cannot be attributed to either Palazzo Marino or the two Milanese clubs, and appears to be related to financial guarantees.
For the official signing, the funds from the involved banks must first reach the municipal treasury. This amount is around 100 million euros. The delay should only last a few days and is not expected to cause any issues.
The key point is that the deed must be completed before November 10, the date when the restriction on San Siro’s second tier will take effect, after which the current stadium could no longer be demolished. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning.
