Appearing on 'Pressing', Carlo Pellegatti spoke about Mike Maignan as follows:
"What drives me crazy is that Milan will lose Maignan for free, it makes me insane. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Renewal? With this management, they don’t want to hear about it. Maignan was promised a 5 million euro salary. In January things weren’t going well, so Milan decided to offer 4 million euros."
Obviously, Maignan didn’t agree....
"In March, they told the Frenchman they would speak with Cardinale and sort out his contract. From then on, no one said anything to Maignan. I spoke with his entourage, and they don’t want to hear about it anymore. And so we lose one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Do you realize that? And whoever comes in will still be a downgrade."
