Speaking to 'Cronache di Spogliatoio', Riccardo Trevisani commented on Milan’s derby win:
"I don’t feel like blaming Chivu for Lautaro’s substitution. I don’t feel like blaming Chivu if Inter fails to convert the penalty or the chances they created. I don’t feel like blaming Chivu if Maignan is an alien and his goalkeeper doesn’t save. Chivu organized a game in which Milan dominated, played clearly better than the opponent, and from my point of view, Inter deserved to win. Then it ends 0-1, but if Maignan doesn’t save, it ends 3-0. What are we talking about? Where is the credit? People say that with Rabiot on the field Milan doesn’t concede, but they would have if their goalkeeper wasn’t extraordinary. It’s not that with Rabiot you don’t concede or that Rabiot makes the saves, Maignan did it on the penalty, on Thuram, or on Lautaro. That’s not true.
"Milan played a great game against Napoli, the only one in the big matches. For half an hour against Roma they were chaotic, after the 1-0 the game became easier. Against Inter, for 54 minutes, they barely touched the ball, then after taking the 1-0 lead they managed a few counterattacks, with Leao unable to make an impact. We cannot always be slaves to the result. In Milan-Napoli, I saw preparation and a team that plays, creates, and scores on a 0-0. Against Roma and Inter, I only saw that after taking the lead. I say this because when you need to play football against Pisa, Cremonese, and Parma, you don’t win. When the match is yours to make, you don’t win. You win when the opponent does it because you play on the counter, but against the smaller teams you need to play football. And indeed, against the smaller teams you don’t win. So Milan is a strong team with strong players, but they play badly and this problem must be solved, because there are far more games against small teams in the league than against the big teams that come to attack at home and away."
