Luca Bianchin, a journalist, expressed himself this way on gazzetta.it while introducing Claudio Filippi, Milan’s goalkeeping coach:

“Maignan with Filippi seems improved above all in his mentality, and he again gives the impression of being a commanding goalkeeper. More objectively, he is back to making decisive saves, on Neres in stoppage time against Napoli, on Gatti against Juventus, on Zappacosta in Bergamo, on Hernani’s free kick in Parma. Then of course, he is saving penalties, something he had not done since 2023. This month he stopped Dybala and Calhanoglu, maybe the two best specialists in the league. Allegri at the end of the match gave public praise to his trusted man, ‘Claudio Filippi is the best at this, he is very good at preparing goalkeepers for penalties.’ A line from Luca Marchegiani comes to mind, ‘I worked with Filippi at Chievo, and that was the year I saved five penalties in a row. He had a particular way of preparing me. He trained me well.’

"Allegri even said Filippi was decisive in convincing Maignan to stay at Milan, and the impression is this is the key. Maignan sees Filippi as a top-level professional and trusts him. People inside Milanello point out that this season Mike in training does fewer things but with greater precision, and this too might be a factor. History says Filippi is a very analytical coach, focused on technique and goalkeeper posture. Not a revolutionary, but a coach in line with the long Italian tradition. Mike adds his own approach, he is not easy to persuade to change, and of course his play with his feet, in which he is among the best in the world. In these three months, it works. Whether Maignan is the best goalkeeper in the league is debatable, and a phone call to Svilar, in any case, would be justified. That he is improved compared to the last two seasons is a fact," as relayed via Milan News.
