"The king is Leao. Milan on top."
The Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport leads with this headline this morning, the day after the Rossoneri's 1-0 win over Lazio at San Siro. The victory came thanks to a goal early in the second half from the Portuguese forward, who finished a perfect assist from Fikayo Tomori. With this result the Rossoneri take first place alone in the table at least until 20:45 tonight when Roma face Napoli.
In stoppage time of the second half yesterday there was heavy confusion. Lazio asked for a penalty for a handball in the box by Pavlovic. Referee Collu, called to the monitor by VAR, decided not to give the penalty because there was a foul by Marusic on the Serbian defender before the handball. Max Allegri was sent off for protesting during this incident. He said after the match in the press conference:
"On the penalty I did not insult the referee at all, in fact I later went to congratulate him because he handled that moment well. He found himself stuck in the middle, but he made the choice he felt was right, so he did well."
