Maurizio Sarri, Lazio’s coach, spoke in the post-match press conference after Lazio-Milan:
Did the substitutions change the match?
"The changes helped us a lot on Saturday and probably could have helped us get a result today. Some players are not at their peak, but they help in short periods: soon they will be able to give us more minutes. Tonight, I was a factor."
Your opinion on Noslin?
“I am not thinking about selling him, we haven’t discussed it. In these games, we need a player who can play as a main striker: in tighter matches he would struggle more. I feel he can help us, so I am giving him minutes.”
Is Lazio a big-match team? Your view on Tavares? Sarri said:
“Tavares is not an easy character. I tried being kind, now I am stricter: I keep him at a distance and play him little so he gets annoyed (laughs). About big matches, there is no fixed rule: it might be about characteristics. Maybe we have problems against teams that defend deeply. I hope it is just a motivation factor.”
When did you know the win was possible? Thoughts on Gila’s game?
“We prepare to avoid mistakes. He lost a ball like an amateur: he must not do that. The start of the second half was like in Milan. Luckily, the struggle ended suddenly, and our win is legitimate.”
