Arrigo Sacchi, former Milan coach, spoke about Max Allegri’s Milan in Gazzetta dello Sport:
"Serie A features the attacking trident. At the top of the table are Napoli and Milan, with Inter just one point behind. The Rossoneri’s victory at Torino confirms their catch-up to Conte’s team and shows that the Devil must be taken seriously in title predictions. They have no international commitments, they were eliminated from the Coppa Italia, and now they can focus entirely on the league without other distractions: this is not a minor detail, but a point in favor of Milan, who compared to their rivals, can arrive fresher in spring, when everything is decided. Looking at Milan’s path this season, the first striking fact is the regained consistency compared to recent years. Now the players know what to do and how to do it, they know how to endure and try to move as a single unit: sometimes they shine more, sometimes less (as in last night’s first half), but the important thing is having a clear idea of the path to follow. Allegri deserves credit for building a project in just a few months and motivating the whole environment."
Sacchi added:
"It’s natural now to ask how far this Milan can go. Football is too slippery to make a firm prediction, yet, as I said before, the Rossoneri can compete for the title until the end. If, in the January transfer window, a striker is brought in, which this team needs like bread, clear prospects could open. Napoli and Inter, which I consider best equipped to win the title, would do well not to underestimate Milan’s growth. I would not be surprised if, by spring, Milan were ahead of everyone while the others struggle to catch up."
