Fabio Grosso spoke to DAZN after Milan-Sassuolo ended 2-2 at San Siro. His words:
On praising the team:
"I pass on the compliments to the guys. Coming here and managing to hold our own against such a strong team, and even having some regrets at the end, definitely means they did very well."
On the aggression to find the equalizer:
"They were good. We started well and took the lead. Then, of course, the opponent is top-level, and at the end of the first half we conceded also due to our own mistakes. We didn’t start the second half well, but we finished the game at a very high level. Maybe even too high, as we allowed some counterattacks we could have managed better. But this great courage gave us the chance to create opportunities to go for the win. We are happy with the point. We put everything aside and look to the future with confidence."
On Laurienté’s three-touch goal, Grosso said:
"Now I’ve seen it again… It was a fantastic play. We didn’t expect to press Milan so effectively, but in that moment we did it excellently. You have to manage these combinations with high quality: it resulted in a very beautiful goal. Laurienté and Doig are very important for us. I left Doig out because he hadn’t been feeling well for two days. I hoped to keep the game balanced and save Laurienté for the finale. He scored a beautiful goal and made a fantastic play that hit the post."
