Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan’s coach, spoke to Mediaset after Napoli-Milan 2-0. These are the words of the Tuscan manager following tonight’s defeat, the third of the season:
After the Coppa Italia, you also leave this tournament… Maybe Milan didn’t reach top form. Was there a lack of aggressiveness?
"We faced a strong Napoli, we knew that. We could have behaved better on the two goals. It was a well-played match by both teams. They defended better and deserved to win."

On the referee:
"The referee managed the game very well, the officiating team did very well. I need to analyze the match; recently we have been conceding goals a bit too easily and we need to improve. Tonight’s defeat should be seen as an opportunity to get back on track. Fortunately, it was a cup game. We are disappointed, but now we need to focus on the league."
What satisfied you today?
“That we had favorable situations. We managed the ball fairly well, but we needed to attack the box better. If you make a mistake like on the first goal, you could have defended better. When you concede two goals in three matches that you could have handled better, you need to understand how to improve.”
Considering Milan’s squad, is a return to a back four possible?
"Tonight was a match we needed to recover from. But one match shouldn’t overturn what we have done in three months of work. We need to analyze with clarity and calm. Only calmness can help us achieve our goal, which is to finish in the top four. We lost two cup games, but we must absolutely resume our path and work on the mistakes we made."
On Christopher Nkunku:
"Tonight he worked hard and had favorable situations. He has great qualities, and in the end he will show them. He might open his scoring account with a goal; we need to keep believing. He has been in Italy for three months, some players have difficulty adapting and struggle. His qualities are important and need to be exploited."
