FIGC president Gabriele Gravina spoke about the Milan-Como match which, as announce by Serie A league Ezio Simonelli, shall be played in Australia.
Here's what he said:
"The referee for Milan-Como in Perth? The federation has expressed its willingness to accommodate the choice, which falls within the autonomy of Serie A, to support the match in Australia. Some reflections, however, we will have the opportunity to make regarding Asian refereeing and fair competition. It is a topic that deserves some consideration, which I will discuss with the Serie A league. For now, no official communication has arrived confirming that the match will take place in Perth."
"Regarding the choice of the Asian refereeing team, I would not speak of illegitimacy," Gravina continued. "Simonelli is so attentive to respecting the rules that the term becomes strong. But with the Asian Confederation, the Australian federation, and our own federation, we need to find a balance."
