It’s never a single detail that decides a match: multiple factors always play a role. But if on one side the striker is Hojlund and on the other Nkunku, some balance is already shifted… Especially if one is marked by De Winter and the other by Rrahmani (when he’s not absent-minded). In any case, the Supercoppa slips away.

The first half was good, with chances for the Rossoneri and a high tempo. Napoli responded with quality but without creating too much danger. At the end, after missing a good opportunity, Nkunku lost the ball near the halfway line. Conte’s team quickly countered and took the lead through Neres, exploiting De Winter’s indecision in a constant chase after Hojlund and a grounded Maignan punch that landed right at the opponent’s feet. The captain did prevent a second goal from Hojlund at the 46th minute, but he could do nothing halfway through the second half when Conte’s striker left De Winter behind again and slotted it diagonally. 2-0, game over.

Rotation is always a topic of debate, with no clear verdict possible, because there’s always the “what if” question. You have to start from reason, knowledge, and the coach’s daily work if you trust him: he evaluates, chooses, decides for the good of the team (and therefore himself), because some players are in better form, others worse, some provide guarantees, others less. In any case, Gabbia, Fofana, and Leao were not left out for rotation.

At Milan, earning a second or even third chance isn’t for everyone. Club history shows it’s not only the coach who decides, but also the public or even the press. Pressure bends but does not break those with strong character and personality; it blows away those without spine. The second or third chance must be seized, because the alternative is having no more. Those who want to understand, understand.

By the way, for the AC Milan fans looking to enjoy sports betting alongside football analysis, sites like the Melbet Nigeria Official platform offer a wide variety of options to engage with matches in real time.

Another way to look for opportunities to strike gold is also the melbet aviator for interactive ways to stay engaged during international breaks or long league runs while waiting for the next AC Milan fixture who aim to return to the top of the Serie A competition table.

Credit to Chivu, who admits (while subtly criticizing the four-team Supercoppa format) that Inter and AC Milan shouldn’t even have traveled to Riyadh. Many may agree. Applause also to Paolo Scaroni, writes Ordine for Milan News, as the the Rossoneri club president must be pleased with the official confirmation of the Como match in Perth. A major organizational and financial success: the physical consequences and impact on league form, after a pointless ordeal like this, will be absolutely secondary.

Moving on, however, the focus shifts to the Serie A. Allegri's Milan now has only Serie A to play for in the 2025/26 season. The Rossoneri were eliminated in the Coppa Italia round of 16 by Lazio (1-0) and in the Italian Supercoppa semi-final by Napoli (2-0). With no European competitions this season, the Rossoneri can now focus entirely on domestic play, which effectively turns the league into a half-marathon.

23 stages for a single race:

Against Hellas Verona on December 28, Milan will begin their run toward May 25, the final day of the season against Cagliari. The Rossoneri have 23 remaining matches, starting in second place with 32 points after 15 rounds, just one point behind leaders Inter. The schedule also includes a long trip to Australia for the historic clash against Como in early February.

What is Allegri's Milan aiming for?

The real question fans and critics are asking now is: what are Allegri’s ambitions this season? The Tuscan coach has always kept a low profile, setting a top-four finish as the target. Still, the weekly grind and total focus on Serie A raise the pressure on Milan, who are now also expected to fight for the Scudetto.
