AC Milan have returned to training at the Milanello sports centre under the guidance of Massimiliano Allegri. After putting the disappointing Italian Super Cup behind them, the Rossoneri have already turned their attention to preparing for Sunday’s league clash against Verona, scheduled for 12.30 PM CET at San Siro. The Milan coach had granted his players the weekend off.
AC Milan's Rafael Leao resumes training
There was very good news for Massimiliano Allegri from the afternoon session: Rafael Leao has returned to full training with the group. Joining him was young Dutch forward Cheveyo Balentien. The Rossoneri’s number 10 has Verona in his sights and, barring any surprises, is set to start alongside Christian Pulisic. The Portuguese attacker, who has recorded five goals and one assist in ten appearances this season, is ready to lead the team in what shapes up as a decisive test.
What about Matteo Gabbia?
Matteo Gabbia is still recovering from the knee problem picked up in the last league match against Sassuolo. The Rossoneri vice-captain trained separately today and his availability for the game against Verona remains highly doubtful, as told via Calcio Mercato.
