Milan are looking for a new central defender, and in recent hours there has been talk of the Rossoneri’s interest in Juventus defender Federico Gatti. Matteo Moretto, speaking in a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, provided an update on the situation:
“Milan are definitely looking for a central defender to strengthen the squad in this January transfer window. The aim is to bring in a defender on loan, if possible. As for the many rumors about Federico Gatti, the current Juventus center-back, what we know is that there has been a phone call between Allegri and Gatti. But first, there is no negotiation between Juventus and Milan. Second, within Milan’s management there is no unanimous agreement on this name."
Moretto added:
"So yes, it is true that there was a call between Allegri and Gatti, but as of today there is neither an advanced situation nor any concrete talks between the clubs. For this reason, I can also say that the supposed swap deal involving Ricci has no substance. We will see if things change in the coming weeks, but Milan are certainly looking for a central defender in this January window.”
