Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, former Milan coach Fabio Capello spoke about Massimiliano Allegri’s team and the phase it is going through. He also warned about what lies ahead and previewed tomorrow’s delicate league clash against Verona.
Let’s go back to Milan, who opened the transfer window with Fullkrug. Do you approve of the signing?
“We’ll see how he performs. He is an experienced player, but caution is needed because we know San Siro is a difficult stadium even for players who have scored a mountain of goals. In general, Milan have lacked ball speed in attack, and recently the team has gone back to being a bit slow.”
What should Milan ask of the market? Capello said:
"They need a defender, to gain more balance and solidity. Up to now Milan have often been saved by Maignan. Proven defenders, though, now end up in Saudi Arabia or England. An Italian club has to be smart and find the right player at a more reasonable price.”
