Massimiliano Allegri spoke to DAZN before the Milan-Hellas Verona match. Here is everything he said:
On the team’s approach:
"Certainly, it’s not an easy match. Verona is a team with great speed and good technical ability in attack. We need to play a very organized game to avoid losing confidence during the match."
Do players feel more humble against big teams?
"I think we absolutely need to improve. There are stats showing that in some games where we had much more possession, we got fewer results. This means that we need to be much more careful about the goals we concede in those moments and raise our focus."
On Christopher Nkunku, Allegri said:
"He played as a center-forward and scored some goals. He is integrating with us. As I’ve said several times, some players adapt immediately, while others need time. But he is an exceptionally skilled player. We hope he plays well today and, above all, scores goals, for him.”
How important is Maignan as a leader?
"Maignan is important, like other experienced players. To keep Milan at a certain level, the club is working for the future. There will certainly be contract renewals for important players, which I think is normal. The club is working on that."
