The Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport leads with this headline on its front page this morning ahead of Milan vs Hellas Verona, a match valid for the 17th round of Serie A and set to kick off today at 12:30 at San Siro:
"Nkunku, last chance."
With Rafael Leao, Santiago Gimenez, and Niclas Fullkrug all unavailable, Christopher Nkunku will once again partner Pulisic in attack. The Frenchman is still without a goal in this Serie A campaign. Max Allegri and the entire Rossoneri environment are expecting clear signs of improvement at last, and above all, a goal.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, the Milan coach said the following about the Frenchman:
"I’m smiling because I believe he has the qualities to do well even tomorrow, given that Leao will not be involved and will not be called up. He has this discomfort that prevents him from sprinting at his usual speed. I preferred to leave him at home because part-time players are not acceptable. Fullkrug arrived smiling and happy to have joined Milan, I saw him as very willing. He has a week of training, then on the 2nd he will be available against Cagliari. Gabbia is still out, he is doing well but we will see if he will be available against Cagliari, otherwise against Genoa. Fofana is fine, the others are fine except for Gimenez, who is undergoing rehabilitation on his ankle."
