After strengthening the attack with Niclas Füllkrug, Milan are now looking to make a new addition in defence as well. As reported by this morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera, one option to keep an eye on remains Federico Gatti of Juventus. During the winter transfer window, the arrival of a right-sided wide player who can occasionally rotate with Alexis Saelemaekers is also not ruled out.
Speaking yesterday in his press conference on the eve of the match against Hellas Verona, Max Allegri assured that Ricci and Loftus-Cheek will not be leaving in January:
"Ricci is absolutely not going anywhere. He is a reliable player, an intelligent lad, and above all he is very keen to stay at Milan. I am very happy with him. Whenever he has played, he has always done well. I see no possibility of him leaving Milan. Loftus-Cheek? Ruben is an important player for us. I said it at the beginning and I said it even when he was playing less. In these nine matches we will need everyone. We all have to be clear about the objective, which is to return to the Champions League. Finishing in the top four is not simple, it is not complicated either. You have to stay on your feet whatever happens and take one small step at a time. It will not be easy, but only with desire, belief, and determination can we reach our goal."
