In recent days, the Italian press have spoken about a possible swap deal involving Ricci and Gatti, but at the moment it is not a concrete situation. Fabrizio Romano addressed the matter in a video on his YouTube channel, saying:
"There have been contacts between Max Allegri and Gatti, and there is a lot of mutual understanding between them. But going from that to building a swap deal is another matter. We have no indication that Milan and Juventus have started any Ricci–Gatti exchange, and this is what Allegri has also confirmed. The coach has reaffirmed his intention to keep Ricci at Milan and to make him an important part of his technical project. There is no Ricci–Gatti swap on the table. What does exist, however, is Massimiliano Allegri’s appreciation for Federico Gatti. It has been known for some time that the relationship between the two is excellent. But moving on to actually signing him… we are not at that stage."
