AC Milan’s standout figure after yesterday’s win against Hellas Verona can only be Christopher Nkunku, the scorer of a brace, as pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
After months of disappointing performances, the Frenchman has finally found his breakthrough in the league and, after the match, he told Sky:
"I came back from an injury and needed time to regain my physical condition. Now I am training well and I feel better and better. These are moments… It is difficult when you do not have a proper pre-season, but it is important to stay positive."
It is no secret that in recent weeks there has been frequent talk of a possible departure in January, with Turkish clubs reportedly interested, but Nkunku hopes this brace marks a turning point in his season. His intention is to remain in the Rossoneri shirt and fight for his place even after the arrival of Niclas Füllkrug.
