Milan’s top priority is renewing Mike Maignan’s contract. The French goalkeeper is one of the pillars of Massimiliano Allegri’s technical project, as well as a technical and charismatic leader of the Rossoneri side. Keeping him could represent the major signing of the start of 2026, especially since there are few goalkeepers on the market as strong as Milan’s number 16.
The Rossoneri management are fully aware of this and are pressing Maignan to agree a contract extension until 2030 worth €5.5 million per season plus €1.5 million in bonuses.
Unlike in recent months, the two parties appear to have grown closer again, but only after the meeting scheduled in the coming weeks will it become clear what the Frenchman’s future will be. Should talks ultimately break down, Milan are ready to move decisively for Hugo Souza, the Corinthians goalkeeper, as relayed via Milan News.
