The eighteenth matchday has come to an end, with Inter, Milan and Napoli still locked together at the top, their relative distances unchanged. What has changed, and significantly so, is the gap to the chasing pack such as Roma and Juventus, as the trio attempt a small breakaway. During Sunday evening’s episode of 'Il Club' on Sky Sport 24, the strengths and weaknesses of the league’s top three sides were analysed. This was the view expressed by pundit and former goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani.
Luca Marchegiani’s words on Milan and the structure of the attack:
"In my view, Füllkrug can change things a bit. The centre-forward of a team like Milan has to bring different characteristics compared to players like Leão, Nkunku or Pulisic. The statistic about scoring with the first shot on target exists because Milan take few risks. They are content to control possession and wait for the right moment. They are excellent at doing so, and it is a strength, not every team manages it. They rarely risk through balls or shots from distance, and this is why, when the chance arrives, it is a big one. And since the quality is there…"
