144 days later, Leao and Pulisic could finally take the field together at San Siro for Milan. Since those 18 minutes in the Coppa Italia tie against Bari, the ideal pairing in Massimiliano Allegri’s summer plans has barely played together, with the only exceptions being the derby, which Milan played away, and a few minutes in Parma-Milan. A real taboo, one that could finally be broken on Thursday night in the late kick-off of Serie A’s 19th round against Genoa.
Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao finally together
There is growing anticipation in Milan and at Milanello to see Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao start together again. In theory, both the American and the Portuguese are fit, so each is available from the first minute for Thursday night’s clash at San Siro against Genoa, as pointed out by Milan News.
So far, they have shared the pitch for only 136 minutes, scoring one goal each. When fielded together, Leao and Pulisic therefore produce a goal every 68 minutes. A figure not to be overlooked, and one Massimiliano Allegri will look to build on in this midweek league round, hoping everything goes according to plan.
